11 january 2008A start of production porous ceramic blocks in UkraineEuroton – is a leader company, which follows up all tendencies in the world construction market, strives to implement innovative technologies and manufacture building materials in line with international standards.
Large-size clay blocks have almost fully ousted ordinary bricks in the countries of Western and Eastern Europe. European tendencies have an impact on the Ukrainian construction market as well. In 2006 market volume of porous ceramic blocks in Ukraine was 23 mln pcs of conventional bricks. As compared to 2005 market volume has increased by 15 times. In 2007 growth of market is forecasted at the level of 75%, i.e. 40 mln pcs of conventional bricks. Having studied the outlook for development of the given sector, Euroton, the first and the only manufacturer of clinker bricks in Ukraine, put a target to become also the first producer of large-size porous clay blocks and to offer the best European experience to the market of Ukraine.
In December 2007 Euroton has launched production of porous clay blocks at Rozdol Ceramic Plant. Production volume at the plant is planned at the amount of 15 mln pcs of conventional bricks. However, considering trends of growth of the construction market in general and increasing demand on large-size blocks in particular, Euroton intends to build a new factory in Kiev region specialized in production of clay blocks only. Presently, the project is under development. Factory construction site and investment capital required are being studied. Negotiations with the leading European equipment manufacturers (Lingl, Germany; Ceric, France; Morando, Italy; Solincer, Spain) on the purchase of facilities and technologies are underway.
What are the advantages of large-size clay blocks over ordinary bricks?
- Large-size clay blocks have extremely high thermal insulation properties.
- Economical construction due to lower weight of blocks and consequently simplified design of basement.
- Balanced structural strength and low heat conductivity.
- Shorter working times and lower mortar use thanks to large size of blocks and wavy block surface.
- Perfect sound insulation.
- Optimal moisture properties due to porous structure and hole geometry of blocks.
